It was an odd year music-wise. For me, 2007 was a period of transition, from IDM back to techno and from CDs to vinyl and downloads. I listened to a lot of older releases; thankfully, a wave of reissues helped in that respect. I have a new appreciation for electronic music’s roots in Chicago and Detroit, and renewed respect for small labels sticking it out and bucking the mainstream.
