Colony, 2002
2 is not as cohesive nor as musical as its predecessor, but it has some wonderful moments. “Bit Hop” is an especially fine piece, combining a simple, repetitive melody with chopped-up hip-hop vocals, deep bass beats, and long chords. Funkstörung and Lusine ICL (amongst others) contribute remixes, though they tend to break the album’s flow. Some of the more abstract tracks are bound to grow on me with repeated listening. I have a feeling this release will spend a lot of time in my CD player over the winter months.
