Frog Pocket’s new EP is sweetly melodic. It starts with a charming, down-tempo track called “Jupiter Lady Mountain Village.’ Next up is a more beat-focused, bass-heavy composition, the gorgeous “Oh, The Place You’ll Go!” Its violin sounds meld perfectly with contemplative electronics. Each track tops the one before. “Always Never (Dumfries and Galloway Mix)” starts with scattered beats before the emergence of strange vocal cries. “Omulad” is rich with analogue textures and smooth, deep bass. This is a refreshingly straight-forward release. Frog Pocket’s funky, beautiful music is both distinctive and reassuring. I hope to hear lots more from this artist.
