Pitchcadet’s press release goes to great lengths to describe M-tec as “classic,” but that’s a misleading term. You’d expect to hear music with the simplicity of early Orbital. Instead, Slip Wish is rich with lush melodies and gorgeous bass. There’s also the clicks and clacks I’ve come to expect of IDM. Thankfully, the clicking blends perfectly with the moody melodies that burble about. This is definitely among my favorite releases so far this year. Plus, it’s Pitchcadet’s first non-CDR CD.
